This project has great emotional significance for the owner who was raised in the house and inherited it from her parents. The structure was originally built by the prior owners as a stable, and modified incrementally over the years with uneven care and workmanship.
We were asked to add a music room, enlarge the kitchen, and upgrade the existing work to appear just as informal as before, but with clear visual coherence. To achieve this, the entire structure was stripped to the framing and completely rebuilt.
The entry façade was especially challenging, needing close design coordination between a redesigned entry porch, new entry door, and the master bedroom balcony above.
