This is a small cottage added to an existing house at the Sea Ranch. In typical Sea Ranch style, the main house consists of a barn-like living space with small bedrooms and a loft appended. Our clients had owned the property since the house was built, and now that their children were bringing their own children for weekends, they felt the need for a secluded space to find respite from the family hubbub. The cottage is essentially a miniature version of the main house, with an open living space and a sleeping loft over the kitchenette. We replicated the materials and detailing of the much-loved house, and oriented it to a meadow view since the main house had already captured the entire ocean-view.
