The house is designed around a masonry Trombe wall which forms a spine along which the living spaces are organized. The generous size of the property allows this single-loaded linear design oriented to the solar exposure. The basic scheme provides a view exposure to the South. The glazing is protected from excessive heat gain by means of trellises at the view windows, and a roof overhang at the monitor glass. The North wall is bermed for maximum thermal efficiency.
