Andre Ptaszynski received his B.A. and M.Arch. from Yale University, graduating from the School of Architecture in 1971.
Before joining Harley Jensen’s practice in Lafayette, and founding Jensen/Ptaszynski Architects in 2000, he worked in New York, London, Juneau, Alaska, San Francisco, and Burlington, Vermont. His nine years in Vermont included the founding of a thriving generalist practice, which he left in order to return to the Bay Area.
Andre has worked with a broad range of project types, including commercial, industrial, retail, and custom residential. As Principal, Andre is involved with all aspects of each project.
Andre is President of the East Bay Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, Chair of the Oakland Museum of California, Council on Architecture, member of the Lafayette Design Review Commission, member of the Board of Directors of the Kala Art Institute, and a member of the Berkeley Breakfast Club.
